THIS YEAR, INDIAN NATIONS WILL HONOR ONE OF THE FOUNDING MEMBERS,  CHARLENE MARSHALL.  We will thank she and Kay Hill for starting this show so many years ago!

Indian Nations Live is the premier live model horse show in Oklahoma!  Indian Nations is also the oldest show in the state, having started back in 1980 in Charlene Marshall’s back yard.  The show is held at the Washington County Fairgrounds in Dewey, OK (MapQuest/GPS directions: 1115 N. Delaware St., Dewey OK 74029).  Dewey is in the northeast corner of Oklahoma, just north of Tulsa.  Dewey is the home of the Tom Mix museum, which is dedicated to the life of the cowboy screen legend, plus we have MANY antique stores!

This show is a North American Model Horse Showers Association (NAMHSA) member show.  Indian Nations Live meets the requirements of this organization to qualify as a member show.  This means that each 1st and 2nd place model in halter and performance classes will receive a card that qualifies them for entry in the North American Nationals(NAN) show in 2009 and 2010.  For more information on NAN or NAMHSA, go to www.NAMHSA.org

This show is open to any model horse shower, whether this is their first show or they have been showing for 20 years.  The show will start at 8:30 am.  The show hall will open at 7 am.  We will break for lunch at noon, with the show resuming at 12:45.  Lunch will be provided for a small fee, but you must reserve in advance.   There will be another Indian Nations Live cake!!  Custom commercial ribbons will be awarded 1st – 8th place in each class.  Custom pirate-themed awards will be given to the many Champions and Reserve Champions in each category.  There will be a photo center for any winner to have its photo taken with the INL 2008 logo in the background.

This year our show has a theme!  Pirates and Princesses!  There will be lots of pirate and princess gear, prizes, decorations, and more!  You are encouraged to wear your own pirate gear or princess tiara, or we will provide you with either.  Of course, you don’t have to dress up, but it will be fun!

Other features of the show include fabulous door prizes, and “raffle” items, and other special give-a-ways.  You can also purchase Breyer Fun Day Special Run (Tivoli), and paint a Stablemates horse!

Wild Horse Collectibles will be exclusively selling Breyers.  Entrants are encouraged to bring retired models, tack, and other accessories to sell from their table.

Judges for Indian Nations Live 2008 are:  OF & CM Performance:  Kat Jamison; OF Halter:  Cinda Rich and Lori Batchelor; CM Halter:  Sue Stewart

Rules for Indian Nations Live-Open Division:

E For the purposes of this show, a model entered in an OF Halter or Performance class is a plastic, china or resin model of any make in original factory finish, with undetectable touchups or repairs.  A model entered in a CM Halter or Performance class is any horse that has been altered in color, position, or texture.  CM Halter or Performance will also include Artist Resins, altered China horses, and other altered resin horses.  Some CM Halter classes are split by composition.  Other CM Halter and Performance classes may be split between plastic/china and resin if the number of entries warrant.

E  For each class you will have a 3x5 card/paper with your horse’s name, breed, sex and your name/initials.  The judge will keep the cards for the 1-8 placers in each class.  You will also provide a new card for each horse that is called back for Champion/Reserve placing.  A string tag identifying your horse would also be a good idea to prevent mix ups.  The card method will prevent writing fatigue and error.  It will also eliminate the need to turn in a list of your horses at the end of the show.  PLEASE PRINT CLEARLY!  IF I CAN’T READ IT, IT GOES ON THE OFFICIAL NAMHSA OFFICIAL RECORD AS WHATEVER I INTERPRET IT AS!

E There is a limit of 4 horses per class, per shower.  Make sure your horse only enters one breed class in one halter division.

E Handlers are optional (but helpful) if you choose a Showmanship entry, and carts are optional if you have a harness entry.

E There will be a limit of 10 minutes between performance classes.  NO EXCEPTIONS, PLEASE DO YOUR BEST TO COMPLY.

E 3x5 cards or other means of explanations of your performance entries are extremely helpful to the judges, unless it is obvious what the horse is doing.  Appropriate obstacles/accessories are required for the trail, jumping, Western Games, and Working Western classes.  Dolls are not required.

E Any class will be split if the entries warrant.  The penny method will be used to reduce class sizes as needed.

ALL ENTRANTS MUST, I REPEAT MUST, TURN IN AN ENTRY FORM.  TOO MANY OF US DON’T BOTHER, THEN THE SHOWHOLDER HAS NO WAY TO CONTACT YOU WITH RESULTS, INFORMATION, ETC.  I PREFER TO MAIL SHOW RESULTS TO ALLOW MY DONATORS TO ADVERTISE.
