Thunderbolt is the 2010 limited edition model horse made exclusively for Mid-States Distributing (they distribute products to many farm & home stores).  The Mid-States models are all Native American Indian horses, with either feathers in their mane, or warpaint-type symbols on them.  Thunderbold is limited to 2,900 models world-wide.  He's serially hand-numbered on his belly.

This grey Appaloosa (kind of a dappled grey with blanket), Thunderbolt, is painted with a fire arrow and two crossed bars.  The fire arrow painted in this manner represents trouble for the enemy and more power for the warrior.  The crossed bars indicate that the horse and rider have already survived an ambush.

Appaloosas are among the most beloved horses ridden by American Indians.  They descend from the spotted horses developed in the 1800's by the Nez Perce tribe.  In addition to its loud coat patterns, the Appaloosa breed is characterized by mottled skin (dark spots on the pink skin) most commonly found on the muzzle and around the eyes, and by striped hooves.  For unknown reasons, this Breyer Appaloosa has NONE of those features.  He's still pretty!
